Discussion of Truth

Posted on April 5, 2009September 4, 2022 By Admini No Comments on Discussion of Truth

The depth of truth cannot be found within the vastness of perception. We perceive our world around us as we have been told it to be to by our culture and education. For example, we are given labels to use when we speak about a person; mister, miss, or missus. But yet, there are those who are born with both anatomy parts. Our society forces these people to choose what gender they claim. Where defining the person does not say who they are, or what they are, or who they will be. Just these terms help us define how we perceive them according to our culture.

It is required when you sit down to testify that you swear upon the Holy Bible, that you will tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. But one cannot say they know the entirety of any one truth without saying they know every view of every person and every option something is not. It is pointless to claim the “whole truth” on the stand because you really have no “whole truth” to provide, simply your own small perception of the events or things experienced by yourself based on your limited knowledge of the whole truth presented to you in the situation. Such as when OJ testified that the bloody glove did NOT fit his hand. My only response was, “who is to say he did not punch something that morning to cause his hand to swell.”

Once I read about a man who spent years under pressure as a child because he associated the sensation of taste with shapes rather than the typical, sweet or sour our society normally uses as labels. It wasn’t until he spoke out in book that the medical and psychological departments took him seriously. Accepting different perceptions of truth is difficult once your world has been defined. Sadly it is the perceptional truth that will over ride our desire to find the absolute truth because the depths of absolute truth challenge the world we exist.
