Depths of the Wound caused by Racism

Posted on December 10, 2024December 10, 2024 By Flora Langel DeKock No Comments on Depths of the Wound caused by Racism

The medical racism (blacks/Irish/Indian/x are prone to….) alone creates fatalities. Black women are more likely to die post giving birth. That is a TERRIFYING fact and reason enough that I would have chosen to never have kids if I had more melanin in my skin.

It is terrifying how ignorant people are to the full depth of the American racism. Someone once pointed out something that I think Americans like those making the posters comment gloss over when discussing racism. Slavery anywhere else in the world, servants were still treated like human beings. The American slave trade treated them as chattel, in some cases, even worse. They were beasts that were actually “BRED” for certain features like animals.

So while some might want to say “oh there was slavery LISTS OF PLACES,” those in America that were elevated enough to not be in the “system” might not fully fathom the depths of the wounds this countries predecessors actions have left; we have centuries of consequences to recover from.
